10 Facts about geckos.

Hi Viewers!
This is Vern 😊😊
This week my school has started and we have school work to do like reading and etc.
We did some hard work but it was awesome. I enjoyed finding out facts about geckos.

I'm having a great day at school, here is what I did:


10 facts about a gecko 🦎


1.The gecko's tail comes off without causing any harm to the animal.


2. It runs with amazing speed wherever an enemy comes near.


3. When the gecko is safely out of its enemy`s reach it will pause.


4. Some geckos are lucky enough to escape from the enemy.


5. When the gecko is travelling at speed, the tail acts as a rudder to help steer the animal.


6. The gecko is a timid creature. They usually hide away.


7. A gecko has a special built-in safety device-a detachable tail.


8. lf an enemy grabs the tail in its mouth the tail drops off while the gecko goes free.


9. The enemy thinks the tail is the gecko, so the enemy stops to eat it. By this time the tail less gecko is safely run away.


10. Geckos belong to a lizard family. The most often seen gecko in NZ is the common skink.
